These works emerged in response to the visits of U.S. presidents to Cuba after 60 years of Cuban propaganda portraying the United States as its mortal enemy. However, for these visits, the discourse abruptly changed, and an absurd amount of investments were opened to extract as many dollars as possible from American and global tourism attracted by these historic events. In these pieces, buildings of bureaucracy and the power of the Cuban dictatorship are reimagined with new uses.

Fraseteo is an ongoing series I have been developing since 2018. It began at El Otro Estudio in Havana, Cuba. The creation of these "fraseteos" is also international.
"Fraseteos" are phrases collected out of their original context, chosen for their poetic nature, cleverness, or any other memorable characteristic.
This project has produced various works in different formats:
2018: Exhibition at Fábrica de Arte Cubano
2018 – Present: Regular publication on my personal WhatsApp Status, Facebook, and Instagram @fraseteo
2023: "Frasemas," the first compilation of "Frasemas" or poems derived from #fraseteo. These are daily phrases collected from close acquaintances, compiled in their original form under the #fraseteo project.
2021 Fraseteo reading performances at Unfolded Poetry in McAllen, Texas
2021: Collage artwork: paper on cardboard, inkjet print, and watercolor
2024: Fraseteo reading performances at Festival Puerto Rico in McAllen, Texas
Fraseteo continues to evolve, engaging audiences both in physical spaces and across digital platforms, reflecting the dynamic nature of contemporary art and communication.

Bird Book
Year: 2015
Medium: Book, plastic, and metal
Dimensions: 60 x 60 cm
Part of the "Useful Books" series, the "Bird Book" invites interaction through a mechanism that enables the book to mimic a bird's flapping wings. This visual metaphor highlights the potential actions of a book and underscores the necessity of engagement to bring it to life. At rest, it appears as a book with a cover as long as wings. When a viewer interacts, the book begins to flap, and together, they decide if they will soar in unison.
